Never has the prospect to make money online been better than it is at present. Furthermore, starting a business on the internet has never been easier to do.

Eleven years ago when we started to market online, the only practical way to get noticed was to work hard at SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and get ranked on the first page of Google. To obtain prospects, the only alternative was to advertise on Google.

Advertising for our two top keywords cost twelve-dollars and fifteen-dollars per click, respectively. As one can see, it wouldn’t take long to run through thousands of dollars. When we were just starting out the thought of spending fifteen-hundred dollars for a hundred clicks wasn’t even possible. Consequently,  we worked hard at SEO and ended up ranked in the top four positions on Google for our most sought after keywords. Today, it is not uncommon to hear of an online business to rank on the first page of Google within a couple of days, but it was highly unusual eleven years ago.

Ranking on Google is not nearly as vital as it once was because of the multitude of other paths one can stumble upon your website on the internet. They can stumble upon your website through blogs, social networking sites, YouTube, inexpensive advertising, and a verity of other paths.

To have an online business eleven years ago, you had to be familiar with HTML code (Hyper Text Markup Language) to build a website. Now, you can create a blog on many Web 2.0 sites and without any technical programming background. It only takes a day to set up a marketing page, monetize it and begin marketing.

Only a small part of the world’s population was online eleven years ago. At the present moment there are 1.73-trillion people online. This means that one out of every four people in the world is online. This is a enormous market, no matter how you slice it.

In my judgement, there has never been a better moment in time to make money online than there is today. The only question remaining is: Will you take advantage of this enormous opportunity and claim your share of the market?
